How home health coverage works
Medicaid managed care: most of the home health we provide — skilled nursing, pediatric private duty nursing, personal care aides, and therapies — is covered by Florida Medicaid through managed-care plans like Simply, Florida Community Care, Integrated, and Aetna. The plan authorizes services and hours based on medical necessity documented by the physician; we assemble that paperwork and request the authorization for you.
Medicare: after a hospital stay, surgery, or a change in condition, Medicare covers intermittent skilled home health — nursing visits and therapy — when a physician certifies the need. If your parent is coming home from the hospital, this is usually the coverage that pays for recovery care.
Private pay: families can also pay directly for any service, with no insurance involved — common for extra aide hours beyond an authorization, or when a family wants care to start while paperwork is still in motion.
